How to Have an Awesome BBQ with an Ice Cream Maker

Having your own bbq party can be a fun and cheap way to get all of your friends and family together. There are a few things to keep in mind that can make your barbecue memorable and fun for everybody involved.

Appetizers are a good way to kick off your barbecue, and since it’s generally a low key affair, you can just pop them onto brightly colored and durable plates, and then put them on an outdoor table, or indoors if bugs are an issue at your home. People often worry that their guests won’t have enough to eat, so they serve way too many appetizers and stuff everyone full of cheese, crackers and mini hot dogs before the main event is even on the grill. Some chips, salsa and guacamole, as well as an interesting salad and maybe one exotic appetizer, is the way to go. This way, your guests won’t starve, but they’ll still have room for kebabs, when the time comes.

Another good tip for a successful barbecue is to have vegetarian options! Some vegetarians can be picky, so you could really please and show them that you care about their lifestyle choices if you chose to cook the veggie burgers and kebabs BEFORE any meat goes on the grill. This way, their veggie burgers are not even touching meat at any point, and they will not feel out of place at a barbecue.

Lastly, dessert–most people just buy a plate of supermarket cookies or hope that their guests will choose to bring some sort of dessert. Having an ice cream maker at home makes for an impressive, but easy dessert. Ice cream from an ice cream maker has to be eaten quickly, as it melts faster than regular ice cream, especially during barbecue season. Making it as your guests seem to be finishing up their main courses is probably the best option.
