Designing with Garden Edging Pavers

There are many ways to use hardscaping solutions to both increase the beauty and function of your garden. Paving stones are perhaps the best material to do this as they balance out the important features of strength, durability, beauty, and value. But what are some ways to use garden edging pavers and the like to get the most out of your garden? Here are some basic ideas that will hopefully get your creativity going:

First, you need to determine the color palette of your garden and home. This will have an impact on the colors you select for your pavers. There are three major categories – single colors, two color blends, and three color blends. Pick the one that works best with your garden environment.

For example, you could have a small walkway running through a part of your garden to let you reach certain areas without trampling your work. You could also go a bit larger scale with your installation by putting a full blown walkway through your garden to give your guests a path to walk through and admire your creations. Others use them to create little ‘stepping stones’ that serve the same purposes. Still others use them to edge certain areas of their garden to keep different areas separate from one another.

You can also use the pavers for more aesthetic purposes, yet no less functional. One popular use is to create a patio in your backyard or garden area. Then, whenever you have guests visit, you can host them in this patio. Couple this installation with a barbecue or fire pit, or install matching pavers for your pool deck, and you’ll quickly have an integrated and well designed backyard paradise.
