If you choose not to install solar garden light fixtures for your path lighting, your other option is installing low voltage lighting.  Low voltage lights will give you more options in light fixtures, you can install fiber optic or recessed lighting instead of mushroom and tiered lights that are incredibly popular solar designs, but they also require a lot more work in installation.  You will need to purchase a transformer to step down the electrical current and you will have to also run wires to the lights.  Fortunately, these wires don’t have to be buried, but you do need to hide them to make your lawn look the best.

Whatever option that you choose, installing path lighting is a great way to add to your existing garden lights or get started on a new plan to install more yourself.  They’re a great do it yourself project that can be easily done in less than a weekend and will go a long way to making your home more attractive and safer.
